On November 28, the Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone Preliminary Round for the 16th China Shenzhen Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the third Shenzhen Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, was held in Shenshan West Convention and Exhibition Center.
Outstanding projects from Shenshan could qualify for applying for Shenzhen subsidies for start-ups and are entitled to receive a maximum of RMB1 million in financial support. Beyond an award of up to RMB100,000, prize-winning companies are given precedence to enjoy rental reduction and exemption and get located in the youth innovation and entrepreneurship incubation base, and to apply for talent apartments or rental subsidies.
Themed on innovation, the competition prioritizes the automobile industry and the upper and lower reaches of the automobile supply chain as well as rural revitalization. The goal is to appeal to talents, companies, and investment, speed up the introduction of worldwide talents and teams to pursue innovation and start new businesses in the Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone, and help the Zone to blossom into an industrial transfer base for Shenzhen, a destination for newly introduced major industrial projects, and an incubator for high-quality development in eastern Guangdong Province.
Since its inception on June 17, the event has attracted innovative start-ups and companies at the growth stage from the US, Australia, Hong Kong and Macao of China. A total of 235 projects, 42 of which advanced to the finals, signed up for the competition, covering multiple cutting-edge technology fields such as new materials, biological medicine, intelligent components, and energy conservation and environmental protection.
After rounds of intense contests, the new energy Qinghai green automobile generator set, Shenzhen Tongying Internet Technology Co., Ltd., and Aohan Technology clinched the first prize for automobile teams, automobile companies and rural revitalization respectively. 18 high-quality projects with promising prospects signed cooperation intention agreements with the Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone in the award ceremony, writing a new chapter in future development.
Zhai Jinhui, chairman of DigiEngin Shenzhen Co., Ltd., a prize-winning company in the automobile category, noted that the Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone has made steady headway in transportation network, infrastructures, and industrial landscape, providing ample scope for development and fertile soil for entrepreneurs. He hopes to seek a stronger partnership with Shenshan on the basis of mutual benefit, and to continue to purpose entrepreneurship in this promising zone.
Additionally, team members who participated in the competition paid visits on November 29 to a number of enterprises and landmark projects in the special cooperation zone, including industry leaders such as BYD, Xiaomo International Logistics Port that plays a pivotal role in boosting regional development, and the well-furnished youth innovation and entrepreneurship incubation base. Such field visits have enabled the participating teams to get to know first-hand the Special Cooperation Zone’s remarkable service capacity as well as the Zone’s enormous potential and vitality for promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.
