Guangdong Manufacturing Champion Lands in Shenshan

If you take apart a smartphone, you will find several layers of hidden “tape” inside—for battery bonding, heat conduction, and electromagnetic shielding.

China used to rely heavily on imports for these high-end adhesive materials. Now, Shenzhen Meixin Polymer Materials Co., Ltd., a local company, is gradually replacing foreign supplies with domestic alternatives.

The company has recently secured an 80,000-square-meter industrial site in the Shenshan High-end Electronic Chemicals Industrial Park within the Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone, where it plans to invest RMB633 million in building a high-performance adhesive production base. Upon reaching full capacity, the project is expected to generate an annual output value of RMB1.2 billion.

A Guangdong Manufacturing Champion with Strong Credentials

You may not have heard of Meixin, but you are certainly familiar with its clients.

Recognized as a Guangdong provincial manufacturing champion for high-performance specialty adhesive tape for lithium batteries, Meixin works with leading global smart-device brands, including Huawei, CATL, BYD, and Amazon. Its products are widely used in new energy vehicles (NEVs), robotics, low-altitude aircraft, and smartphones.

A thinner smartphone, a secure battery, fast chip cooling, and stable signals—all of these depend on high-performance adhesive materials. This is exactly what Meixin delivers. Its product line, spanning high-performance adhesives and tapes, thermal conductive gels, and electromagnetic shielding materials, is designed to solve challenges such as strong bonding, efficient cooling, and reliable shielding.

For years, the market was dominated by overseas giants such as 3M and Henkel. Backed by 43 patents and its involvement in national standards, Meixin has established a strong foothold as an adhesive solutions provider for consumer electronics and new energy batteries, achieving import substitution. It has been recognized as a national-level “little giant” and a Guangdong provincial manufacturing champion.

As the Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone is accelerating efforts to build itself into the core hub for Shenzhen’s new-generation world-class automobile city, Meixin’s arrival will help fill a critical gap in high-end adhesive materials within the electronic chemicals sector, adding another flagship “made-in-Shenshan” product to the high-end materials industry.

A Carefully Considered Choice: Why Meixin Chose Shenshan

Meixin’s decision to establish operations in the Shenshan High-end Electronic Chemicals Industrial Park was not a last-minute choice, but a long-term strategic decision made after considering industrial planning, location advantages, and the business environment.

“Choosing Shenshan is a carefully considered decision,” a representative of the company said. “Shenshan is home to Shenzhen’s first—and south China’s only—specialized industrial park for high-end electronic chemicals. It gives us direct access to leading NEV manufacturers, such as BYD, as well as to the semiconductor supply chain.”

Shenshan also offers a business environment on par with Shenzhen in terms of service standards, quality, and efficiency, backed by fast approval processes and full-cycle support, delivering what the company calls “Shenzhen efficiency.”

Meixin has already established a dedicated task force and started project planning and approval procedures. Construction is expected to officially begin in January 2027. Once operational, the plant will mainly produce high-performance adhesives, thermal conductive gels, and electromagnetic shielding materials.

In the future, tapes, adhesives, or thermal materials made in Shenshan will find their way into key components, whether in smartphones in your pocket or NEVs on the road.
