To further promote the fine traditional Chinese culture, and support the development of model villages under the “High-Quality Development of 100 Counties, 1,000 Towns, and 10,000 Villages” initiative, the Houmen Chaomianshan Village Committee recently joined hands with the Zone’s Smart City Development and Management Service Center to launch a New Year celebration themed “Welcoming Spring with Joy and Harmony, Cementing Neighborly Friendship and Solidarity”. 

The celebration featured several interactive zones, including a artistic performance zone, a food zone and a community celebration space. Neighbors could watch splendid dance, song and recital performances that were spontaneously organized by villagers and the village committee. In addition, they could attend the relaxed “tea party” in the food zone to share their thoughts and suggestions on rural development with the village committee. Villagers also actively took part in cultural experience activities such as lacquered fan making, and rubbing.

Furthermore, the village committee invited local firefighting publicity staffs to tell villagers about the importance of using fire and electricity in a safe way as well as tips on escaping in a fire, showed how to use fire extinguishers properly, and instructed villagers to learn essential knowledge of fire protection and be more aware of fire safety.

The New Year celebration event not only enriched the rural cultural life, and provided a platform for villagers to show themselves and interact with each other, but also carried forward fine traditional Chinese culture and injected new impetus into the inheritance and development of rural culture.
