The Shenshan Administrative Branch of Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment is held responsible for oversight and administration on ecology and environment within its jurisdiction; takes charge of pollution prevention and control concerning air, water, oceans, soil, noise, light, odor, solid waste, chemicals and automotive vehicles; grants administrative licensing on ecology and environment; implements the regulation on ensuring simultaneous design, construction and operation of environmental protection facilities in construction projects; acts in the capacity of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment to impose law enforcement, investigates and penalizes violations of ecological and environmental laws, and conducts according to law routine supervision and inspection on pollution prevention and control, ecological conservation, and nuclear and radiation safety; copes with complaints and proposals on ecology and environment; launches publicity and education campaigns on environmental protection; deals with other affairs assigned by the municipal bureau and coordinates with the local government on related affairs.
