The Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone will improve healthcare infrastructure integration with Shenzhen and allocate high-quality medical resources. The Shenshan Outpatient Department of Peking University Shenzhen Hospital commenced operations in June 2019. The Shenshan Branch of Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, the first tertiary hospital in the Special Zone, broke ground in December 2020 and is expected to be completed and put into operations at the end of 2025. The Zone will move faster to establish a district-level public health and disease control center and put in place an air medical rescue system.
