Electricity Consumption in First 10 Months up 27.94%, Signaling Shenshan’s Strong Industrial Momentum
From:深圳市深汕特别合作区Updated:2025-12-08

From January to October this year, the total electricity consumption in the Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone reached 1.535 billion kWh, representing a year-on-year increase of 27.94%. Notably, electricity consumption in September alone surpassed 200 million kWh for the first time, rising approximately 32.4% year-on-year to hit a record high.

This robust increase in electricity consumption—the barometer of economic development—indicates that Shenshan’s industrial enterprises are demonstrating increasingly stronger production capacity and growth momentum.

Inside the AI smart factory of Samkoon Shenzhen Technology Co., Ltd., located in the Shenshan Bay Intelligent Manufacturing Cluster in Houmen Subdistrict, production lines are operating at full speed, with lights still on well into the night. This new plant, which commenced operations in July this year, is running at full capacity to fulfill a backlog of orders.

“Our output value for the first ten months reached approximately RMB230 million, a year-on-year increase of 19%. We expect the annual total to reach RMB270 million,” said Song Bin, Chairman of Samkoon Technology. As the new plant’s production capacity gradually ramps up, workers on the production line are currently working overtime until 9:30 p.m. each night and putting in extra hours on weekends. To meet an 80% surge in overseas orders, the company has added two automated production lines. Its monthly electricity consumption has also jumped from just over 50,000 kWh before the relocation to 180,000 kWh now.

Along Shenshan Avenue, a constant stream of transport trucks carrying popular BYD models such as the “Fang Cheng Bao” can be seen. At BYD’s Shenshan Auto Industrial Park in Ebu and Xiaomo, machines are running at full capacity and logistics operations are in full swing. With production capacity on a steady rise, the company is actively recruiting talent.

Shenshan’s “factory-port linkage” model is accelerating the global expansion of Shenshan-made products. In October this year alone, the Xiaomo International Logistics Port exported 16,000 vehicles, over 90% of which were produced at BYD’s Shenshan base.

Guided by BYD’s “super factory,” Shenshan has efficiently attracted nearly 30 leading enterprises in the industrial chain, including BWI Group, Faurecia, and Gecko Motors, progressively building a new energy vehicle industrial cluster with an output value in the hundreds of billions of yuan.

Recently, Shenzhen’s first and South China’s only high-end electronic chemicals industrial park officially commenced construction, providing another engine for Shenshan’s high-quality industrial growth. A modern industrial system that is more vibrant and resilient is rapidly coming into being in this emerging industrial hub.
